The Breast Center at Carondelet St. Mary's recently was granted full accreditation from the American College of Surgeons National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), the highest recognition a breast center can receive.

Important changes to PowerPlan
effective November 18, 2014!
On Tuesday, November 18th, changes will be made to many orders within PowerPlans- including SCDs, TEDs, Oxygen Weaning, and Saline Flushes. Because of these changes, PowerPlans containing these orders will be altered and any personally saved Favorite versions of these PowerPlans will no longer be available. If you have saved favorite versions of any of the impacted PowerPlans, you need to re-save the plan.

The Carondelet Medical Libraries now offer access to DynaMed™, an evidence-based clinical reference tool created by physicians for healthcare professionals for use at the point of care. Its editors monitor more than 500 journals on 3,200-topics, updating the tool daily for the most current evidence.

Practitioner Burnout Education Available
Burnout is a multidimensional syndrome involving the helping professions. It can affect the quality of services and compromise individuals' health. To increase practitioner awareness on this syndrome, Donald M Denmark MD FAAFP FCFP MMM CPE, Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Carondelet Health Network, presents a short education course that includes an overview of the syndrome, the effects, and how to identify and combat burnout before it takes its toll.

Beginning on October 1, 2014, the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) will transition from a per diem/fee for service reimbursement model to a DRG-based reimbursement model for inpatient hospital services.
